Schenck's Schlösser und Gärten

About Schencks Castles & Gardens

Christoph Freiherr zu Schenk-Schweinsberg My objective in publishing Schencks Castles and Gardens is to inform people, particulary those in the travel trade, about the enormous number of historical houses and gardens in Central Europe, of which many are still comparatively unknown.

Groß Toitin Manor House When compiling the 2009 edition, we again included more than 200 new objects. For the first time, historical houses and gardens from the Baltic States, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, as well as Slovakia and Slovenia have been added. Their owners would be delighted if you were inspired to stop by for a visit.

Ziethen Manor In addition to the new travel destinations, those properties that you already know may merit repeat visits. In the gardens, you will experience nature’s play of colours throughout the year. The diverse events held at the houses, e.g. special exhibitions, concerts and countryside festivities, offer a varied programme. Historic houses are also the perfect venue for those wishing to stage their own events, such as weddings, family celebrations, conferences, corporate functions or simply a relaxing weekend.

Happy Visiting,

Christoph Freiherr Schenck zu Schweinsberg
