Breuberg castle is located in the Hessian Odenwald. Because of its excellent state of preservation, it belongs to the most impressive castle plants of Germany. The castle was built around 1150 in order to secure ecclesiastical properties in the Odenwald. Everything is in good condition, that belongs to a "real medieval castle": castle tower, circular walls, castle-moat, chapel, festival rooms and the knight´s hall. The youth hostel operated here belongs to the most popular in Germany. In the knight´s hall, established in 17th century, rich stucko works are to be admired. The coats of arms and mythological scenes rank among the most important works of the late Renaissance in South-Germany. The tour guide offers different possibilities of exploring the castle for the small ones: among other things a child birthday with treasure hunt. The castle is orbited by many hiking trails that invite to explore the adjoining woods. All kinds of celebrations can take place in the castle´s restaurant.
