This former Nobertine abbey has been the museum’s home since 1975. It is a 6-hectare site that includes not only the abbey and related buildings (churches, cloister, gateway, barns, stables) but also a range of half-timbered buildings from around the region. Visitors can also see exhibitions about the history of the abbey, south Thuringia, agriculture and gardens.
